Part of Visa pay cards of Russian banks out of service abroad
MOSCOW, Sep 1 (PRIME) -- A part of Visa pay cards issued by Russian banks do not work in other countries, clients of several banks told PRIME on Thursday and Visa representatives confirmed the information.
A client of Sberbank and VTB earlier said that his cards did not work in Thailand. A VTB call center officer told him that the error was due to some activities by Visa.
“Indeed there is a failure on the side of the payment system, as a result of which there are some limitations with the servicing of banking cards,” a spokesman for Sberbank said.
Visa said: “We are aware of the problems experienced by some holders of Visa cards. These technical problems have a limited impact and do not affect processing of domestic Visa card transactions. We are actively working to resolve the problems, and will solve them as soon as possible, of which we will immediately report.”
